




India's Tata Motors announced plans to take orders in India beginning April 9 for the Tata Nano, an ultra-cheap car that runs on a 2-cylinder, 624cc-rear engine and is likely to be priced at around US$2,000. Tata expects to sell out its initial order of 100,000 Nanos for 2009 and is able to produce up to 350,000 vehicles in 2010.
